Stage 1: Install the supplied dependencies

Open a terminal in source and run:

npm ci
npm --prefix functions ci

Both commands must finish without npm ERR!. Deprecation notices from a transitive package do not stop installation when npm reports success.

Stage 2: Prepare Firebase

Follow Firebase setup. Create the project, enable billing, register the Web App and enable Authentication, Firestore and Storage. Continue when every item in the Firebase checklist is complete and .firebaserc contains the intended project ID.

Stage 3: Configure Ordio

Follow Configuration. Copy the supplied .example files, add the Firebase Web App values and run:

npm run config:validate -- .env.development
npm run config:validate -- .env.production

Successful validation begins with Required Firebase and application settings are present.

Stage 4: Create the website host

Follow Choose a host. For Netlify, create and link the site, then add its HTTPS address to .env.production and functions/.env.

Stage 5: Deploy Ordio

For the recommended Netlify installation, run:

npm run deploy

The command validates the environment, builds the website and deploys Firebase rules, indexes, core Functions and the linked Netlify site. It does not request credentials for optional payment or messaging providers. Successful completion displays the published website address. Add that hostname to Firebase Console > Authentication > Settings > Authorized domains.

Stage 6: Create the first administrator

Open the published address with /sign-in, for example:

https://your-store.netlify.app/sign-in

The same sign-in page handles first-time setup. Enter the business name, country, currency and timezone, then create the administrator with email and password or a phone number. Choose whether to import example products, then select Complete setup.

Only the first account can complete installation. When setup succeeds, Ordio opens the administration area and future visits show the normal login screen.

Stage 7: Complete the business setup

In Appearance, add the business name, logo, main heading, short description, cover image, footer text and brand colours.

In Locations, add each location's contact details and address, set its opening hours, then enable collection, delivery or both. Complete the delivery fee settings when delivery is enabled.

In Settings, confirm the country, currency and timezone, add the primary contact number, choose the payment methods, configure notifications and set the current Taking orders status.

In Products, add a category and product or review the imported demo data. Product images are required when saving a product.

Installation is complete. Open the storefront in a private browser window and place a test order before accepting live customer orders.
